G8 Summit Case Study
Problem:
How do you keep 3,000 international reporters informed of the schedule of events and movement of global political leaders in real-time?
When the 30th G8 Economic Summit was held at Sea Island, Georgia, outside of Savannah, movement and coordination of global leaders and the world’s press corps was vital. Security concerns in this outlying location and last minute schedule updates challenged the G8 organizers and kept planners on their toes. To meet the changing daily schedules, and to keep the media informed, the G8 Summit asked InTouch Solutions to provide an inbound messaging system for press organizations to keep track of the latest event schedule modifications 24 hours a day.
Solution:
A tight deadline, dynamic communication needs, and the heightened threat of a terrorist attack required an extremely flexible, secure and reliable solution to be deployed in record time. InTouch Solutions created a personalized inbound IVR with a schedule of events, directions and instructions to keep reporters informed throughout the Summit. InTouch Solutions delivered the solution within a week’s notice and successfully managed communications throughout the event. The Summit went off without a hitch and InTouch Solutions was proud to contribute to its success.
Benefits:
Timely Implementation: As the weeklong meeting proceeded, the needs of G8 Summit organizers grew considerably. All requests were implemented in a timely manner ensuring a smooth and successful operation. Flexible: The InTouch Solutions platform was updated 24 hours a day - in real time- which provided reliable information for organizers and reporters. High Capacity and Highly Secure Solution: The InTouch Solutions’ infrastructure is located in a safe, fully redundant environment and guarded by the highest levels of security and supported by dedicated and experienced staff. The result? The G8 Summit organizers were assured that in the event of an unforeseen occurrence all reporters would be provided accurate information, regardless of where they were at the time.
